Howard Nestler Speaks on Developments in Job Market

Jobs, Careers & Resume Tips...

NEW YORK, NY (PRWeb) March 7, 2007 -- Howard Nestler, CEO of Executive Options, spoke to a group of individuals interested in executive marketing about the need for premium executives to have greater scope in their quest for a "tailor-made" job than that provided by retained search firms. "Retained search firms are a necessary facility in the job market today," explains Nestler. "But if an executive expects to find a job that conforms to the specific deliverables of his or her personal brand, the way to accomplish this is to create a demand in the same manner that corporations market their products and services."

Owing to consolidating, downsizing and out-sourcing, the job market is in flux. Adding to the dilemma, Nestler told his audience, baby-boomers are not currently inclined towards retirement. "This makes for a glutted job market where one is competing with the best of the best," Nestler told the assembled group.

"When every CEO in an executive's sector is aware of his or her talents, a job candidate will have options that a generic employee can only dream of. In the marketing world, it's known as brand recognition," instructs Nestler. His observation is that too many fine people on the job market have amazing skills that go unrecognized and accomplishments that go unrewarded. "In these times, a man or woman needs to be in demand. Just having a job is no longer security against an adverse future."

Nestler points to the fact that Baby Boomers make up a significant portion of our population. A majority of them are not inclined towards retirement and are looking to prolong their careers. "The clients I work with at Executive Options all have something to say. It would be a shame for their voices not to be heard."
